Question

Hi! I was working on a translation using SDL Trados 2015 and the real time preview stopped working. I'm using Word 2016. I'm getting these two messages: 1. Real-time preview is not supported by the Microsoft Word version you are running 2. The associated COM server does not support ActiveX Document embedding . Any suggestion?

 Which version of Word 2016 are you using? 
 The real-time preview does not work with the "Office 365" versions of Office. Have a look at KB article 5013 . 
 It also seems not to work with most other Office 2016 versions (see my other post ). 
 There will soon be another solution available with the new Word filter, which will, include a real-time preview that does not rely on Microsoft components.

 There are documented reasons for this problem, see KB 5013 . But if you have Studio 2015 you may be able to resolve this using the new Word filter instead of the default. Emma Goldsmith wrote a good article on this here:

Hi Hector, 
 Did you also open the source file again as part of a new Project making sure that the new filetype is being used? You can tell this immediately when the file is open in the editor by using Tag ID mode. So if it says this in the orange tab at the top of your file when it's open in the editor then you're using the wrong filetype: 
 
 It should say this: 
 
 The version number might be different for you as I'm testing a Beta right now but the name should be the same.
