How can I edit my glossary; I'd like to view the full list (ie: know how many terms it has).

I thought I used to be able to open just the termbase and manage the terms.

  • Hi Walter,
Many thanks for your reply. I used SDL Trados Professional for many years; I only recently switched to the Freelance version. I recall being able to edit the TM in the way that you mention here. Based on what I've found in this version, it does not appear that MultiTerm is installed. When I first started using Freelance, I imported a glossary (Excel file) and I use the termbase when I translate. I can easily add terms but have yet to figure out how to work directly in the TM to make changes. Any assistance you can provide would really be appreciated. Thanks again.

  • Hi Jocelyne,

If you're already familiar with Multiterm and you have found that it's not installed, simply go to your SDL account, download it and install it. Remember that Multiterm Desktop is a separate program. Another alternative is the Glossary Converter from the Open Exchange, which allows you to quickly convert back and forth between Excel and Multiterm formats. Please note, however, that if you export your Multiterm termbase to an Excel file and modify the Excel file, you would need to convert it back to Multiterm format and add it again to your Studio project before you can see your edits in Studio.
