Cannot open the trados files in the window

Question

I cannot open the trados studio files(xliff, package, tm, project etc.) by clicking the icons in the window.
I have to open the trados studio first, and then I can open the files only in the running trados studio.
I might have erased some files related to trados studio file execution.
I am just about to delete the software and to reinstall it.
But I hope to have another option to fix it rather than to delete and start it all over again.
Could anyone help with this problem?

I think a reinstall is going to be the easiest solution. Anything else is going to be trial and error and take a lot longer. Reinstalling isn't hard, you won't need to return your license, and you won't lose anything. 
 
Give it a try and see whether this helps before we attempt another solution.
