Upgrade an old tmw and keep Context matches and fields.

Question

Hello everyone! 
 
 I need to upgrade an old .tmw to a sldtm. 
 I know there is one way to do this also to keep the Contect matches. The only issue I losing the fields for each segment in the new translation memory. 
 
 I have got an old old .tmw I export as tmx(1.4) through Workbench. 
 I have also made a new SDL Studio project in SDL studio 2014 I am also using the plugin called "Translation Memory eXchange". (this make it possible to use tmx as a translateable file (the file is full translated)) 
 I also have created a new Translation memory connected to the Project) I run the feature> "Update Main translation". all the segments from the translateable tmx file is in the new sdltm. 
 the only problem is I am missing all fields. 
 Is there an another way to make this?

Just to repeat what I said before. TMX is only an exchange file and it requires the TM receiving it to have all the available fields and attributes in place. It does not contain any information about the complete definition of the fields and attributes used in the original Translation Memory. Only the TMW (in your example) has this.

The only way to do this is to use the Upgrade Translation Memory route and upgrade the TMW and not the TMX. TMX only contains field values on the segments that have been actually used. TMW contains the full structure of the original Translation Memory irrespective of whether you have used them yet or not.

Studio has an Upgrade Translation Memory route:

If you use this to upgrade your TM then you can select the TMW file which is part of your five files that make up the Trados TM and then upgrade it, retaining all the fields and attributes that are intended to be part of the TM.
