Studio terminology database

Question

Hi, 
 We have a problem with a Studio terminology database that appears to have stopped accepting new updates. We are working on a large project with several translators, each of whom has updated both the TM and the TB. One reviewer is then checking the whole translation for consistency and to ensure the termbase is correctly updated. 
 After importing one of the packages from the translator, we found that we no longer can add terms to the TB. 
 Is this a known problem and can you suggest a solution?

Hi Daniel When you say "we can no longer add terms to the TB", what does this mean exactly? What happens when you try? Which error message do you get? Also, does this only happen when you try to add terms from within Studio ("Add new term" or "Quick add new term") or also when you try to add a term from within MultiTerm Desktop? If you can add terms in MultiTerm, but not from Studio, try to remove the termbase from your project settings and add it back again, to see if that solves the problem., Walter

One other thing that my be worthwhile checking: are you working with a file-based or a server-based termbase?

As you mention that you have several translators working on the project, I hope you know that you cannot have several users working simultaneously on a file-based termbase. If you need multiple users being able to work simultaneously on a termbase, you need a GroupShare-based termbase because the underlying file system of a file-based termbase does not offer adequate record locking mechanisms to allow multi-user operation.
