Access denied

Question

I have recently installed Trados starter version, however when I try to generate a preview of the document, I get an error telling me that access to the "local/temp/SDLtempFileManager" file is denied. I have looked at that file and seen that the file is on read-only preventing modification of the contents (necessary for generating a preview), and have tried to change it, but when I click "apply" and "ok", the file remains on read-only. How can this be fixed? Thanks

I'm not sure, but can think of two possible reasons for this. The first is that Word is still running in the background and perhaps has "hold" of the file. So check your task manager and kill any process running Word. the second is permissions, so perhaps you need to install Studio as Admin? This is not the same as just having Admin rights on your machine, you need to right-click the Studio installer and select "Run as Administrator".
