Any Transifex users here?

Dear Studio users,

A client is considering to use Transifex as their localization platform.  Has anyone had experience with this platform?  I am interested in knowing whether I can continue using Studio to translate their files if they do use Transifex.

Thank you.

  • Hi Chunyi,

I am Nina, engineer at Transifex.

Regarding your question, I would like to clarify that Transifex offers you the option to easily download a language file for offline translation. Please note that there is also the option to download a translation file in XLIFF format, as an intermediate format.

You can have an overall view of the currently supported file formats by visiting our documentation guide here: docs.transifex.com/.../

Please also note that you can use Transifex's Web Editor - docs.transifex.com/.../ - instead of offline translation, which offers auxiliary collaborator tools that can help you rapidly accelerate the translation process.

Furthermore, we offer Transifex Live in case of localizing a website. A natural benefit of it is higher rankings in global search engines (more information can be found here: docs.transifex.com/.../ ).

Transifex Live allows you to translate the site in context, giving you a live preview of how the finished translations will appear on the page. You can check how Transifex Live works here: docs.transifex.com/.../.

You can get more information about Transifex and our provided services, just by checking our website: https://www.transifex.com/

I hope that the above helps

  • Hi ,
I could download files in XLIFF (xlf) and .md formats. However it does not give access to TMs. From other solutions I know that it is somehow possible. For example, when I download wsxz files from SDL WorldServer, the package includes a set of TMs that give even more suggestions as compared to when I work directly in WorldServer. Another example is Apsic XBench that allows me to connect a whole Transifex project using my Transifex credentials.

Is there any news after 5 years as to the Studio/Transifex compatibility? I mean is it possible to connect Transifex TMs to SDL Trados Studio 2021 so that I could not only have xlf files available for translation in Studio but also get access to TM(s) assigned to my task in Transifex, again directly in Studio?
Also, is there a similar Transifex community website for Transifex related questions?
