Creating a brand-new TM out of existing translations

Hi,

I have a huge project to translate for which there a legacy texts of source and target language as PDF files available so that I'd like to use them to create a TM. Is there a possibility to create a bilingual TM out of this using the alignment function? As far as I know, actually the alignment has to be validated segment by segment which would take a lot of time because the content is a whole book with 300 pages.

Does anybody has an idea how I could do that in the most efficient way?

Thanks for your support!

  • Hi Susanne,

You can accept the alignment for large projects without inspecting it at all.  This was the fundamental design behind the current alignment tool in Studio.  To save you hours of checking alignments for things you might never even use.  So you just get the TM with a confidence rating on the segment and a penalty to show you it's coming from an alignment and needs checking when you use it.
