I've ticked the box for processing unsupported versions, but that doesn't help. I use Studio 2014 SP2. The ad agency says the file comes from CS4 and other files from them have worked OK in the past. Any ideas or useful experience? Thanks!

Hi John,
If it's an existing Project then you need to check the box in the Project Settings for that project. Does that make a difference?
You could also verify the file if you have this checked in File -> Options by using Ctrl+Shift+O to open the file as a new single file project. This will use the default project template settings that are controlled through File -> Options (unless you changed the default project templates).

I think it's as I suggested, you need to know where the data is to be able to extract it. I wanted to check with InDesign but I don't have a copy and my Adobe account seems to have failed me... so I gave up and just played with the settings. I can extract hundreds of lines using different options in here:
