Object reference not set to an in stance of an object..........

Question

I am getting this message when I go to start up Trados 2007. It has never happened before, and all of a sudden I get this message every time, and the start up just gets blocked (ie Trados just says "starting aspplication"). Can anyone help?

Unfortunately this is a very general error returned from many programs and points to the program being unable to find something it needs to run. But this could be any operation anywhere in the code, or operating system. So troubleshooting it means having more details than you have provided here. 
 
However, given you mention Trados 2007 (in computer terms an ancient, and no longer supported product) and W10 it seems likely that the problem may be related to this. I am running Trados 2007 (workbench not Trados in Word) on W8.1 and it seems ok, but I have no experience of it in W10. 
 
I would expect SDL Legit! which uses Workbench to still work but an old version of Trados may not. I guess you have tried repairing the installation after messing with W10?
