Is there any way that I can modify the short cut keys for Cut and Paste to Shift+Del and Shift+Ins respectively. These are the old cut/copy/paste commands and these are still valid in almost all applications, but somehow we cannot modify this in Studio as Shift+Del and Shift+Ins are not accepted as valid commands?
Nothing to do with being old... depends what you used Walter!! This was the old IBM method for doing this and it's not even that old... although I guess it depends on what we mean by old. I don't want to think of it that way ;-)
You might be able to manually solve this by editing the usersettings.xml file with a text editor in a similar way to solving the use of the Enter key. I haven't tested this but try this article for advice and see how it goes:
If you edit the default keyboard shortcut for copy and paste in Studio first you'll find the entries to edit in this file. So just add whatever will work in the keyboard shortcut settings in Studio and then manually edit them in the usersettings.xml file and restart Studio.
No guarantees... but it might work!
