I am starting project in word and unable to add the termbase.
In Project Settings, I go to Language pair - Termbases - Add - Filebase Multiterm Termbase and I am trying to add the same termbase for my previous project. That folder is on my desktop. On the "Open File based Termbase" window, I select desktop and the folder of my termbase but it does not open. How do I add the termbase I am using in my previous project?

What happens exactly when you add the TB? Do you get an error message? If yes, what does it say?

It would help a lot if you tell us what this error message says. Just telling us that you get an error message without additional info is not very useful.
