Error message when Open for Translation

Question

Hello, 
 When click on "Open for translation" to translate a word 2016 document, I get the following error: 
 Expecting element &ldquo;Non Translatable StyleMappingRule&rdquo; from namespace http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/Sdl.File Type Support.Filters.MicrosoftOffice.Core.Common:..Encountered &ldquo;Element with name &ldquo;non TranslatabbleStyleMappingRule&rdquo;, namespace &ldquo; schemas.datacontract.org/.../Sdl.FileTypeSupport.Filters.MicrosoftOffice.Common” 
 It does not let me open the document. Is there a way to fix this error?

 This sounds like a known issue and you should be able to solve it by following the instructions in KB article 9480 .

Just closing this off... it was indeed this problem and we needed to edit the project template being used in accordance with the KB article. Once complete the file opened without a problem.
