Trados SP2 - can't open packages and I am not sure the Retrofit function works properly

After installing SR2 I could not open packages sent by clients. I receive the following error message:

"Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture (or the neutral culture) on disk. baseName: Sdl.LCStudioIntegration.Common.plugin locationInfo: fileName: Sdl.LCStudioIntegration.Common.plugin.resources."

I am not sure the retrofit feature works properly anymore either.

I asked on Proz and SDL_Steve suggested to disable the anti-virus programm, making sure Windows 10 is up to date and reboot as an administrator ... I rebooted, but couldn't work out how to reboot as an administrator? However, what I did didn't change anything. ... Then I uninstalled SR2 and reinstalled it without anti-virus and up-to date - no luck either.

Steve offered to help next week and suggested to ask here.

  • Hi Gabriele,

I don't think we have a resolution to this one yet, but I would like to have the error stack (the full error message) as this is one we haven't been able to repro yet although we've seen it a few times since releasing SR2.

Can you save the error stack and post it here?  If you save it to your desktop and zip it you should be able to attach the zip to this post by replying with the rich formatting option checked (see this article if you don't know how to do that).  So click on this little disk symbol to save the error stack:

The best thing to do is to log a support case for this one so it gets looked at even if we have a fix in the next few days (I have done this for you as you seem to have been passed around a little already).  We are expecting a hotfix for these errors but it would be good to be able to verify your problem too.

    Thank you

    Paul
