  • Hi ,

I am completely confused by this! How can you have Studio5 if you are not running Studio 2017? Also renaming these folders isn't going to help anything, you are just going to break something. I think you should uninstall all your Studio installs and manually delete any folders left over. Then reinstall the versions you need.

So uninstall Studio from the windows control panel first and then make sure you have manually removed these locations if there is anything left:

    Studio 2017
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\ProjectApi\14.0.0.0\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\
    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\
    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\
    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\
    c:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\

    Studio 2015
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\ProjectApi\12.0.0.0\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0\
    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\
    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0\
    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio4\
    c:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio4\

Then reinstall Studio. At least this way you'll know you are starting afresh. None of this will lose your projects as these are all in your documents folder.

    Regards

    Paul
