Discovered further problem after SP2 upgrade - can't merge segments

Question

I was very grateful for the suggestions after I couldn't open packages after installing SP2 (which solved the problem), but now I have discovered that I can't merge segments anymore. 
 Does anyone have any similar great suggestions?

Do you mean that the function appears grayed out in the context menu? 
Please check whether these segments are separated by a hard return (paragraph mark). If they are, you can't merge them, this is by design in Studio and has not changed in SR2. 
I am not aware that SR2 introduced a problem in this area.
