Error message received after completing a batch task

I repeatedly get this message after completing a batch task: Cannot access a disposed object. Object name: "Button".

This usually ends up in the background and freezes Studio until I find the dialog box and select OK.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen this error.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Studio multiple times to no avail. I am running 2015 Studio.

  • Thanks Sonia, if it works fine without the error then you'll need to contact the plugin developer. The details, from the app page are as follows (just in case it does seem to be the plugin):

SYSTRAN Technical Support can be contacted by phone from Monday to Friday:
    Europe: +33 (0)1 44 82 49 98 (from 9 to 6 PM CET)
    USA: +1 858 457 1900 x446 (from 8 to 5 PM PST)

  • Hi Paul,

An update on this issue, it seems that this might not related to an open exchange plug-in after all, even though initially it seemed to be the case. I just finished running a new project in Trados Studio 2015, source data is IDML, no plug-in is being used for any language or project and I also got this error at the end of the project cycle.
I think it might be a good idea to open a ticket with SDL support but let me know if in the meantime you have more information on this issue.

    Kind regards,
    Sónia
  • Hi Sónia,

If you have a support contract then please do, in the meantime can you try doing a Studio reset. You may have to do a Studio reset and it might help. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0

If you don't have a support contract and if this still doesn't help and you are getting this consistently then please log a case for an installation issue that prevents you from working. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

    http://support.xl8.one

Just fill in the form, making sure you also refer to this thread, and submit it. Make sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.

    Regards

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Yes we have a support contract but will try to do first what you suggest and see if that works.
Thanks so much for all the help and have a nice weekend.
  • Hi again Paul,

I got a reply from SDL support on this matter and apparently SDL is also are aware of this issue and say it is not an error. This is what I heard just now from SDL:

We are aware of this issue, so please don't consider it as an error. Usually this message pops up when a client has a big project and a lot of graphics are involved in it.

There is already a bug logged (for reference LTB-168) for this issue but as this is not an issue for a translator work it is not treated as critical.

So it does not seem to affect the data or the work itself and SDL is aware of it so I suppose they will work on a solution to prevent this message of popping up at the end of the project cycle. Keep you posted if I hear further from SDL.

    Regards,Sónia

  • I've had this problem too from today - each time I carry out a batch task for a new project:

    I saved the Error message:
