After reconverting XLIFF back to Word the first part is well in my German target language but the second part is in the source language

Hello,

after trying to reconvert an XLIFF back to the source format Word 2000-2003 I stated that the first 22 pages are in the correct target language but the last 10 pages are in the source language. I got no error message except of one time the message Frame..... which is perhaps due to missing field tags. I already checked: there are no field tags missing.

I'm working with SDL Trados Studio 2014.

Can somebody help me?

Thanks a lot!

Susanne

Please open the translation document (SDLXLIFF) in Studio 2014 again. I mean simply return to your translation there.
Now locate the segment in Studio, from which the untranslated text starts in your target file.
Please copy the source to target for this segment, one segment before and one segment after. DO NOT SAVE the SDLXLIFF file! Just use "Save target as" now to create your target document. Open this document in Word now. Go to the place, where the first untranslated sentence appears. Return to Studio, UNDO the last changes, then copy the three segments one by one and insert them in Word. This should resolve your problem.

  • Hi Jerzy,

the first time that I followed your instruction it worked but now I have the same problem again (even if I don't save the SDLXLIFF the undo option isn't active anymore because it seems that the file was saved automatically while exporting to Word...
What is even worse is that sometimes I even cannot create the Word target file because of the still persisting error message: "Sdl.FileTypeSupport.Framework.Adapter.Framework1.Writer"
I have the impression as if these two problems are related to each other.
Thanks for helping me out. I really don't know how to proceed further and I have to deliver in Word format.

    Kind regards
