Batch Export to External Review

Hi everybody,

When I select multiple files and open them for translation in just one editor session, after I am done, I press export for external review, but that does not happen in one go, and I keep getting the message for the number of files contained in the project. Is this a normal behavior? I mean why wouldn't it act like the way it does when you select the same command from the Batch Tasks, knowing that I had all files selected in the editor pane when I did this.

Thanks for letting me know

This is because when you open multiple files in the Editor, Studio does a "virtual merge", meaning that it simply appends each file to another in the Editor while you are working on them. There is however no physical merge of the files. You may later open another bunch of documents or even open the same documents in another sequence depending on how they appear in the file list.
If you now generate a bilingual Word file from this "dynamically merged" file, Studio would need to figure out which part belongs to which file when the reviewed bilingual Word document comes back. This is why this function still works document-based, which means that you get one bilingual Word file for each document.
But at least it does generate these review documents in one operation.

I forgot to mention that in my case, I only get one message, there is only one batch operation, but it does generate as many files as you have documents open in the Editor.

Do you experience a different behaviour?
