New TM is not populated while I translate

Hi! I am Valeria from Pisa, Italy.

I have been using SDL TRADOS products for many years, but this has been happening only in the last few projects: I receive a new job, create a project with a brand new TM, I start translating and saving segments but... the TM remains empty!

When I try to import the segments in the TM, it says that the target language has not been specified, but THAT IS NOT TRUE as I have regularly created the project with all the settings and, of course, I specified the source and target languages - as usual.

What is happening? Can anyone help me understand how to fix this?

    Hi Valeria,

    From your description I think it sounds as though you are importing the sdlxliff from the source language folder in your project folder. The sdlxliff files in there do not have a target language set, nor do they contain your translations. If you wish to import the sdlxliff into your TM then you must take the ones from the target language folder of your project.

    On why the TM remains empty... I can only think of a few reasons for this. Either you have added the TM through File -> Options and not in your Project Settings, or it is not enabled, or checked to update the TM in your Project Settings.
