Error Message when opening sent translation projects

Hello, Team!

I'm working on the translation end of Trados and cannot open one of the translation packages I was sent. In the Open Project window, an error message reads "The specified folder already contains files. Choose a new or empty folder." (translated, got the message in German). I'm shown that there are files in the project, but the project simply won't open, as the "Finish" button isn't active. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I would be very thankful for your help!

  • ok - the reason you get this message is because you are opening the package and saving into a location that is not empty.  2015 SR2 has this option:

So if you use this checkbox then you will always ensure that the new folder is being created into which the package will expand the project.

In general, if you remove this additional name of the project from the path then you very likely going to be installing the project files into a folder that already contains many files and folders... this could lead to an unmanageable mess and potential for overwriting and merging folders.  So just make sure you always have a new folder... whatever the name.

    Regards
