Problem opening packages in Windows 10 after removing studio 2011 while using 2015

Question

One of my colleagues can no longer open packages by clicking on them after removing Studio 2011 (she uses Studio 2015). We tried repairing the installation, removing all Studio files in the roaming and local folders, and nothing helped. We even completely removed Studio and installed it again, still the issue remains. We even installed 2011 again too. It is probably in the registry, but I don't know where to look for the correct file association. Does anyone know how to solve it?

The file association in Windows always works with the versions of the software that you installed last. If you run an uninstall, which you did when removing Studio 2011 the association gets lost completely. In order to restore it, you should either run a repair of Studio 2015 or associate the file extension SDLPPX again with Studio 2015. 
 
On the other hand, this only affects the double-clicking on the SDLPPX file from Windows Exporer, but you should stile able to open the package from within Studio using the command "Open Package" (which I would call the preferred method anyway).
