Properties files: How to keep special characters encoded as escaped \uxxx entities in target files?

Hi, 
 My question is somehow opposite to the one asked by Julie (How handle a .properties file with special characters as entities ?) 
 I have an English properties file that needs to be translated into 11 languages. The development team's requirement is to have all the special characters in target properties file escaped to \uxxxx format. I know that in Passolo there is an option under String list settings> Java Options that makes that happen ("Escape all characters above 0x7f as \uxxxx"). 
 I'd like to know if it can be achieved in Trados Studio. Any ideas?

I think, if you mean you want Studio to convert special characters to entities, that you may be better using Passolo for this.
