Running SDL Trados Studio, and I"m a freelancer.
I have set the TM so that it only recognizes numbers, not variables, times, dates, measurements or alphanumeric strings. I have a string such as this in the source: 15kV - 100kV. My target should be 15 kV - 100 kV. Other strings happen such as 14.4kV - 34.5kV. I translate them as 14.4 kV - 34.5 kV (space between number and the unit 'kV'). When I do, then Studio goes to all otner similar instances and removes the space.
If I have specified that Studio not recognize alphanumeric strings or measurements, it should treat 14.4kV as a text string and not autosubstitute anything. But it is.
I looked into the Autosubstitution settings and they are turned off. I went ahead and turned them on, and specified "always add a space between the number ...", but no change in behavior. I don't know what setting I need to change now to stop SDL Trados from doing this. Can you help?
