I created a simple example like this, and also copied this sheet to another so I have two sheets:

If I open this in Studio with the extract comments enabled I see this:

You should be able to see the comments because they have the DSI (document structure information) COM on the right along with the authors name.  The comments should come after the text to which they are associated.

Does this help?  Maybe you have made the changes after the file was processed?  Or maybe you made the changes to the project settings instead of the file options and they are not being used by Studio for your new project?

Hi Paul:

With my Trados Studio 2014 sometimes Trados Studio just doesn' extract the comments. That might be the reason the poster couldn't see the comments in Studio.

Just created and uploaded a simple Excel file that I couldn't make Trados Studio to extract the comments:

WS - comments not extracted.xlsx

I've been doing some testing, but I can't figure out why sometimes comments are extracted, sometimes they are not. I even found out once that in the very same file some comments were extracted while other comments were not.
