If there is no option in the "Common" options (ensuring that you set this before you create your project) to disable extraction for these items then I guess you can do it afterwards.  Couple of ways to do it, using the SDLXLIFF Toolkit and lock all the segments that have the document structure EA, or use the new Batch task app from Jesse Good that will allow you to simply run the batch task, select the segments with EA document structure and lock them.

Locked segments can then be excluded from the analysis.

thanks for your reply. I tried the "common" options, but no setting seemed to solve the problem. Do you maybe know which of these option could match the "EA"-items?

With SDLXLIFF Toolkit everything seems to work fine, even if the files are still very large, so that Trados needs several minutes to open and analyse...but it works.
