Studio 2015 Autotext - not available as autosuggestion?

Hi,  I have added a phrase to my autotext matches - it is a name format "forename initial. initial. initial. surname" However, it is not being picked up as an autosuggest value. It is a medical report so I am not going to provide the actual name. I also do not want to add it to my Term Base. I believe I have all the right flags set to have autotext included in my suggestions, but could you tell me what to check in case I'm missing something, please? Thanks.

  • Hi Sian,

I could be mistaken, but I don't think there's an Advanced menu for editing AutoText items, but if you mean the Options menu, simply choose the language variant you want to add or delete terms for in Options -Editor - AutoSuggest - AutoText and make your changes there, then the right language variant entries will be available to you depending on your project settings. Also, if you add an AutoText entry from within your project, it will automatically be added to the correct language variant. Can I ask how you're adding your entry? Alt+F7? Screenshots below about what needs to be checked, just for double-checking:

The above is project-independent, so your project language won't necessarily show there.

When adding AutoText entries from within your project (Editor view) with Alt+F7, your target language is activated automatically, as shown above.

  • Hi, Nora, thanks for this. Ha ha. Haaaa ha ha. Coming back to my original question, "I believe I have all the right flags set to have autotext included in my suggestions, but could you tell me what to check in case I'm missing something, please? " - your first screen shot was indeed the embarrassing answer. Autotext was not enabled in Autosuggest. There now. I could probably have found that myself, don't we think? Thank you so much for your detailed explanations! What's that RegexMatchforAutoSuggestProvider thing you've got? sounds interesting! (but I can't even sort out basic option settings apparently, so best not get ambitious eh...).

    :) thanks again
