Using Studio 2015, and trying to export sdltm files to TMX format (like I used to once upon a time) so that my colleague can use it, and the result is a file with the tmx suffix, but it's not a tmx. When my colleague opens it she gets "an odd html file". What am I doing wrong?

I think the problem is at your friends side. This TMX is perfectly fine... and imports to memoQ easily enough too:
