Error message: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Can't update TMs.

Question

I'm using Trados Studio 2015 SR2 on Windows 10. This message is being thrown up every time I try to confirm a translated segment, which means my TMs are not being updated. I have no problem saving the XLIFF or target files, but the fact that my TMs are not being updated is a major issue, because I'm working on a project with over 60 files and I'm risking inconsistencies without them, quite apart from having to enter repeated text manually.

Hi Paul, 
 
Thank you for getting back to me. 
 
My Trados Studio 2015 and Multiterm 2015 are completely up to date, so I did some sleuthing. In the end, I found that I had a faulty software driver and using the Windows 10 repair function, I was able to fix the problem. 
 
Everything is working fine now.

Hi Mike, 
 
This one normally means something needs updating. Can you confirm you have the latest versions of Studio, MultiTerm and probably windows SP.
