Please advise me for the best workflow in the following scenario:
I have a source file in MS Word (Source_v.2) which contains tracked changes - i.e. someone has made edits to Source_v.1.
I'm provided with a separate Word file (Target_v.1) which is a translation of Source_v.1.
My task is to replicate the changes in Source_v.2 in the file Target_v.2 (Target_v.1 with all the relevant edits visible as track changes in MS Word) - if a particular word/phrase is added/deleted in the source, I have to find the respective phrases and add/delete them in the target (if they are relevant).
Because I usually don't have any bilingual files, I haven't used Trados in these jobs so far.
I wonder is this even doable in Trados. Sometimes, there are lots of edits, very often repetitive ones, plus the newly added passages use phrasings of the legacy text (the one that is not changed) and concordance searches will be very useful, along with the QA checks.
Any ideas?
