Do you open a file for translation as an editor?

Dear Studio 2015 users,

Do any of you open a Studio file via the "for Translation" route instead of "for Review" route as an editor?  Up until now I have used "Open for Review" when I am assigned an editing task.

However, I don't quite like the default layout for the review mode among other things, and I wonder if anyone here sticks to the open for translation mode even as an editor.

If so, can you tell me how you track the segments that have been reviewed, since there is no way to differentiate from a confirmed segment and a reviewed segment?

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences!

  • OK...I tested what you suggested and finally realized why I prefer the layout in "open for translation". Even though you can drag these translation result and term recognition windows to the desired place to mimic the layout in open for translation, it's not the same. There is a section reserved for these two windows in open for translation, with the segments starting under the section. In open for review mode, these windows would cover the top part of the segments.
Is there a way I can set these windows between the menu bar (sorry if this is not the correct term:) and the source/target segments?
    Thank you again.
