Trados Studio 2014 change font size

Good ingeven. I'm working on a translation right now in Trados Studio 2014. I want to change the font size in my target document and make it smaller (than the font size of my source) so that it will fit. I have no idea how to do this and need help. Thank you in advance! Elvira

  • Create the target file and do it there. Studio is no DTP tool, so you cannot expect it to apply any formatting, which wasn't present in the source.
What you see on Studio screen is only internal Studio view, so changing the font size there will have NO influence on the font in the target.
Depending on the target format it can be quite easy to change font size - refer to the help for the target program.

You can only change the display font size on the monitor, but you cannot change the font (whether the size nor the type) of the target text.

Studio is a translation tool that renders the target text with the same formatting and layout as the source text.

If you need to adapt the formatting, then you need to do this after the translation in the target document as this is not part of the translation job ... and not the translator's job:-)
