SDL Language Cloud Pre-translate Swedish to English does nothing

Hi there

I hope someone can help me out on this one.

I have SDL Trados Studio 2015 SR2 running on Windows 7. I also have a Language Cloud 'Basic' subscription, which has MT integration for Trados.

I've set my 5 source languages to English, Dutch, Norwegian, Danish and Swedish - and I achieve pre-translation for all the languages into English, except Swedish.

According to the list of baseline languages included with Language Cloud subscriptions (http://www.sdl.com/languagecloud/machine-translation/language-pairs.html) there should be no problem with Swedish, but there is and it means I end up having to turn down a number of larger Swedish projects for fear of having to develop premature arthritis by having to type everything out, without the aid of the pre-translate feature.

If anyone has any clues, please do let me know. I'd really appreciate to find a solution.

Many thanks,

Nathanael Fourie

  • Hi Nathaniel,

This should certainly work.  I took the opportunity to share a video on this using your post and a Swedish to English language combination, purely because this question comes up a lot so I thought it might be useful.  It also proved the languages work, so we need to look for something else in your case.

First of all, do you even get MT results when you add SDL Language Cloud for this language combination?  If so then the problem is probably setting somewhere which the video might help to clarify (although I doubt this since you already use pre-translation successfully for other languages).  But let's start there and see what we can figure out:
