WebEx doesn't open .arf files containing SDL terminology courses/recorded webinars downloaded from sdl.webex.com.

Example:
https://sdl.webex.com/ec3100/eventcenter/recording/recordAction.do?theAction=poprecord&AT=pb&internalRecordTicket=4832534b000000026528caa86d03e52f36eba7d624486ba7fe4ef2eb599d726c675d25c61a420c2f&renewticket=0&isurlact=true&recordID=48071987&apiname=lsr.php&format=short&needFilter=false&&SP=EC&rID=48071987&RCID=4636f2835d104d56a4bb4d3a79b2df8c&siteurl=sdl&actappname=ec3100&actname=%2Feventcenter%2Fframe%2Fg.do&rnd=8541394380&entappname=url3100&entactname=%2FnbrRecordingURL.do

The file from this site was downloaded and saved, and then it wouldn't open on WebEx (which I updated to the latest version available, 31.3.1.11). I tried with another file downloaded from sdl.webex.com, but same result. Downloads can't open, and if opened through Playback they seemed to work for a while but got stuck at some point. Some of the courses I'm wishing to take are available from sdl websites like http://www.sdl.com/resources/recorded-webinars.html/list/pages/4, but not all.

Any ideas about how to fix this problem or get access to the courses?

Sorry if I've chosen the wrong place for filing this query, hope you can redirect it if I did.

Thanks!
Xavier

  • Hi Xavier,

    I moved you to the General forum because I have no idea where this one should go!!

    I just tried your download link and downloaded the file.  I also downloaded the ARF player from the link provided when I downloaded the webex.  Then I double clicked the ARF and started playing.  I can only conclude from this that the playewr and the download works. I have the same version as you too, so perhaps there is a problem between webex and your operating system maybe?  I'm not sure what to suggest... hopefully someone else will have a good idea!
