"Apply best match" isn't working - but only in one project

Hi community,

I'm dealing with an issue that has me stumped. Perhaps someone can help.

I have all my projects stored on a NAS, so I can work on them from both my desktop and my laptop computer. This usually works without a hitch (mostly), but today one of my regular projects started behaving strangely.

Even though the Editor -> Automation options are unchanged, no matches are applied in the editor - not even 100% or Context matches. They are shown as a TM result and I can insert them manually via CTRL-T or CTRL-1, but they are not inserted automatically.  Neither on the desktop computer, nor on the laptop.

I tried it in a new project stored on the local hard-disk drive, without changing any of the Editor ->Automation settings, and it works in that project.

I tried it in a new project stored on the NAS, and it works in that project.

But it doesn't work in my main project.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

  • Hi Sébastien,

afraid not, I'm bound by an NDA. But the SDLXLIFF file seems to be causing the problem. I've tried a few things in the meantime that lead me to that conclusion:

I've moved the original project from the NAS to the local hard-drive. Same result, matches are not applied automatically.

I've set up new projects both on the local hard-drive and on the NAS, with the *same* SDLXLIFF file that didn't work in the first place. Same result, matches are not applied automatically.

I've set up new projects both on the local hard-drive and on the NAS, with a *new* SDLXLIFF file created from the same Excel source file. In those project, the matches *are* applied.

For now, I'll work with one of those new SDLXLIFFs and keep my fingers crossed that the problem won't come up again.
