Dupliated TUs

Hello there

Has anyone seen duplicate TUs generated after running the batch task "Update Master TM" using the batch task default settings?

It seems like this is happening when during translation you used more than one TM, e.g. a GroupShare TM and a local TM.

Example:

The GroupShare TM contains "This is a test." -> "Dies ist ein Test."

The local TM contains: "This is a test." -> "Das da ist eine Prüfung."

In the document you insert the solution from the local TM, i.e.: "This is a test." -> "Das da ist eine Prüfung."

When you run the update Master TM batch task with default task settings and update ONLY the GroupShare TM, the server TM then contains both units.

Is this intended behavior?

  • Hi Ziad,

It feels like default behaviour as you have not edited the TU from the GS TM. So it's in effect merging the TUs by treating the local TM as a deliberately added TU rather than a correction to the one in the GS project. If it did anything else it would potentially damage work done by others so it feels as though this is the correct action.

It could also be because the context is different for the TU in the GS TM and it would be incorrect to replace it.

    Why do you think otherwise?

    Regards
