Successive Review sheets for 1 sdlxliff file

Hello,

One of my customer needs review sheets in Word to check the translations. I sent them to him and he already sent me corrected files back which I imported, setting all the segments as signed-off. I then generated new review sheets. Today, I received this new sheets with new corrections. As I wanted to import them, I got the warning "Segments couldn't be updated, they are signed-off"! I then try to set the segments on "translation approved" but then I got the warning, that the sdlxliff have changed since the review sheet export. It seems like impossible to import these new files anymore.

Has someone a solution for this? I will certainly get new batches of changes for other languages and I was wondering if copy/paste the segments in the editor view is the fastest solution.

And maybe a second problem. I wanted to use the button "Add --> Review documents from folder" in the "update from bilingual review"-batch task setting. But I got the messages:

"None of the review documents found were added for this project file because the documents did not have matching file names to the project file" for each file. Is there a problem here? The files have exactly the same name Studio gave them.

Thanks for your help

Sébastien

  • Hi Sébastien,

I'm almost reluctant to suggest something because you will almost certainly have tried all this stuff already!

But from the sounds of it I think I would do this:

    1. Change the status of the segments to translated
    2. Export for review again
    3. Copy paste the target column from the original reviewed document into your new one
    4. Update with that

Not great, but perhaps faster than copy pasting a segment at a time. I wasn't aware of this restriction if the segments have been signed off, but it seems like this is a deliberate restriction to prevent documents that have clearly been finished from being amended in error.

    Regards
