Disconnecting Aligned Segments in Bunches

Question

One real time consuming issue I have been coming across is when aligning single file pairs not being able to disconnect a select number of segments without disconnecting all. I am able to do them one at a time, but not a handful together which would come in handy when the connect all option is not accurate and manual adjustments are needed. Does anyone have advice or workaround for this? Thanks!

This is indeed a limitation of the alignment module. You might find it's better to work with this tool by not using the connect all at the start, but rather by disconnecting all and then scrolling through the documents to connect in strategic locations. So find the places where the alignment seems to have gone awry and then connect only these. If you do this first then when you align the rest automatically you'll find the result is much better.

 That's not the problem at all. The problem is that you are ether using an older version of the software or you simply haven't tried it. It is possible to do this.

 Yes I have. Even with the old version it was a question of learning how to work with it sensibly. The best way is not to align all the segments, but rather just manually align either side of where the alignment needed guidance. Then at the end run the realign and everything not manually completed will be automatically aligned.

 I really think you should make sure you have actually used the current version of the software before you make such statements based on a thread this old.

There is a history to the old alignment tool, which you couldn't be expected to know about, but insulting developers when you actually don't know anything about this doesn't help. Everyone here is trying to be supportive and helpful. So if you have concrete problems based on using the current version of the software then please do come and post them.
