One real time consuming issue I have been coming across is when aligning single file pairs not being able to disconnect a select number of segments without disconnecting all. I am able to do them one at a time, but not a handful together which would come in handy when the connect all option is not accurate and manual adjustments are needed. Does anyone have advice or workaround for this? Thanks!

The tool is an absolute disgrace, Winalign in Trados 2007 is way more efficient and it is over 13 years old!
Then use Winalign... or tell us what your problem actually is instead of complaining without any context at all.

Hello Paul, I was responding to this thread named "Disconnecting Aligned Segments in Bunches" so the problem is that this thread is over 4 year old and it is still not possible to select a range of rows and disconnect them. And what if I wanted to connect a range of rows 1:1? Well, I have to activate the edit mode and click on 2 check boxes for every single row... Have you ever tried this for over 10 rows, or doing it for an hour? It is a lot of clicking for something that should have been possible in 2 simple key presses. Hey, it is 2020, not 1985, and I do not want to find myself having to scratch my ear with my elbow already. Then where is the option to split segments, join segments, etc.? I have to agree with Mathieu Jacquet above and ask the same question, "Have developers ever done an alignment before coding this?"

That's not the problem at all. The problem is that you are ether using an older version of the software or you simply haven't tried it. It is possible to do this.

Yes I have. Even with the old version it was a question of learning how to work with it sensibly. The best way is not to align all the segments, but rather just manually align either side of where the alignment needed guidance. Then at the end run the realign and everything not manually completed will be automatically aligned.

Again, all possible.
I really think you should make sure you have actually used the current version of the software before you make such statements based on a thread this old.

The same developers who worked on WinAlign. There is a history to the old alignment tool, which you couldn't be expected to know about, but insulting developers when you actually don't know anything about this doesn't help. Everyone here is trying to be supportive and helpful. So if you have concrete problems based on using the current version of the software then please do come and post them.

Paul, I have tested SDL Trados Studio 2019 and none of these options are available/working in there. Was it introduced in SR2?
I have tested it now in v2019 SR2 and all is working as it should, even the missing features were added. Good job!
