Manual document alignment

Question

I'm manually aligning a source and target documents and whenever I select "connect", the target document resets to the beginning of this document while the source document stays in place. Any suggestions?

The alignment project does not create a termbase. It creates an sdlalign file. To use this in MultiTerm Extract you have to export the sdlalign file to an sdltm which is a Studio Translation Memory and then export the sdltm to a tmx. MultiTerm Extract only handles the older formats for extraction. 
 
In your process, when you "Choose Termbase" you need to be selecting a MultiTerm termbase which is an sdltb file. 
 
So many filenames and it quite confusing, but the sdltb file is completely separate from the alignment process you have gone through. You create that with SDL MultiTerm, or use an existing one if you have one already.

Hi Barbara, I was tempted to call you June just to continue the thread as it was started ;-) 
 The alignment doc will have been exported to a TM in Studio (not MultiTerm), and I'm Paul (not Steve... Steve is my brother and he's a Policeman in Merseyside with little interest in translation technology ;-)) 
 Now that we have that straight... exporting to a TMX is done from Studio. Just open the TM in the TM maintenance View and export to TMX.
