Error message "translation provider threw exception"

Dear Community!

We work with GroupShare 2015 and one of our freelancers recently got the error message "translation provider threw exception". We looked this up in the SDL Knowledge Base
(kb.sdl.com/ and found that the error has to do with the recognition and substitution of alphanumeric strings in scenarios with older (pre Studio 2014 SP2) versions.

We unchecked this feature both in the TM and in Studio options. Now we got the same error message ourselves, although we work with Studio 2014 SP2, and already during project setup (precisely, during analysis). We checked the features again, reindexed the TM, restarted the GS server, but without success. The Word file cannot even be analysed, and we a stuck in the workflow.

Does anyone know the problem or has a suggestion?

Thanks!

  • Hi Andreas,

I believe this could be due to a number of reasons and not just this one. For example, KB#4944 suggests the error could come from the database reaching it's maximum size (a SQL configuration). There may be other reasons too. I think the best solution is to log a case through your support contract and ask an engineer to take a look at this. I'm assuming you have one with a GroupShare instance?

Does this happen with any project you try to work with now or just this one?

    Regards
