I just started adapting the settings for our Docbook 4.5 XML files to be properly parsed in STUDIO.

Here is one stop item, where I cannot find a solution with on-board means:

I have a lang attribute (for language definition) on several elements in the XML files (books, chapters, sections etc.). In most cases the language suffix shall be adapted to the target language of my translation (so “de” will be changed to “en” in a German to English translation). This is easily set up and works flawlessly.

• But in some cases I need to keep the language suffix from the original text (for instance for “foreignphrase” (which is an element to mark-up words that are in a different language within a sentence) or sectioninfo (which we use to enter information on internal changes in for our editors, which shall be kept in German).

So here is my question:

How can I exclude the lang attribute for some elements from the global rule for the attribute?

The translate feature in the edit rule window is always greyed out for attributes in my installation, so I cannot change it form “Always translatable” to anything else.
