Can't get keyboard shortcuts for "Term recognition" + "Termbase viewer" to work in SDL Studio 2015.

I've tried all kinds of shortcuts but I cannot get these two to work:

Term recognition
Termbase viewer

I am looking for some way to change focus to the Termbase viewer and Term recognition pane with a keyboard shortcut, in order to try to recreate the functionality offered in memoQ called AutoPick, which allows you to scroll through termbase matches with your keyboard (to then insert them into your target text, also with a KBS).

  • Typically you can switch windows via a shortcut. F6 goes target - source - target, and there are another two for "Next view" and "Previous view". I do not know the default, so check via File -> Options -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> All Views.

And you know you can quick add term CTRL+SHIFT+F2 or simply add term (default shortcut unknown here) - which brings the same functionality as in MemoQ?

But what the heck do you need to go that long way? When you start typing, it will be brought by AutoSuggest? So why go to TB, scroll, select and enter?
And if you really need the TB hits shown, just press CTRL+SHIFT+L - you'll get the full list at your finger. What MQ has does not necessarily mean it is better...

  • Thanks Jerzy,

As I mentioned in my reply to Nora, the reason Ctrl+Shift+L / AutoPick is sometimes preferable is I don't always know the first letter of the word I am looking for. I use AutoPick a lot in memoQ, more to jog my memory than to speed up typing. In fact, most of my typing isn't typing, but dictating.

Still can't get any of the shortcuts to actually change focus to the Term recognition or Termbase viewer panes though.

  • These window parts you can switch via keyboard with the shortcuts I mentioned earlier:
