Languages supported

Hello, members..

I am a user of SDL Studio 2011 and at the time I paid for the license, I installed my software for the English-Spanish pair of languages. Now I would need to use SDL for the combination Portuguese-Spanish and cannot find any manner to add Portuguese in it.

I wonder whether this is possible or once you've decided on a pair you cannot use the tool for another pair, or you have to pay for a new license or how this works. I'd appreciate any ideas on the matter.

Thanks.

  • Hi Irma,

With the Freelance Edition of Studio you select five languages when you install. You could select English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German for example. This would give you all the different variants of these main language groups.

So if you forgot or didn't know you needed to select five then you'll have to reinstall Studio to get the options again. You might find running a repair installation will offer this and it'll be faster. But you definitely don't need to purchase a new license for the additional language.
