Drag and drop from source to target in Studio 2017?

Hi,

I might not be in the right place, sorry for this.

I am using SDLX since 2006 and Studio since the beginning.

I miss a feature that was in SDLX but still isn't in Studio: drag and drop from source text to target text.

For example if I translate a text related to motor sport competition, I need to keep drivers, makes, sponsors, cities, tracks names identical in the target text, so I use copy & paste.

Quickplace is useful for very few items in that case.

The quickest way I have found so far when there are a lot of names in a source segment is to copy/paste the whole paragraph and then edit it.

The drag and drop feature would also be interesting for tags when there are many of them.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Eric

  • Hi Jerzy,
When I first installed Studio, I chose the SDLX profile, now my shortcuts are different, what is F6 for?
Here is an example of the type of text I am thinking of:
"Iannone finishes eighth in Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno after leading until lap 15. Dovizioso forced to retire. The two Ducati Team riders had a good race today in round 11 of the MotoGP World Championship at the Automotodrom Brno in the Czech Republic, but unfortunately were unable to obtain the results they had hoped for at the chequered flag."
I believe a drag & drop feature would be faster than CTRL+C, select the text, CTRL+V, hence my request
