Files disappearing from Projects View - VMWare 8.1 / Windows 7 / Studio 2015

Question

Hi all, 
 Every time I shut down SDL Trados 2015 my projects disappear from the Project View. Anybody ever had that? I'm sure it's some sort of setting / buggy thing in VMWare but I can't figure it out. 
 HELP!

Maybe we can rule out the obvious first (just in case ) and you can confirm you are showing all projects with the filter in the projects view? Less obvious might be whether you are using shared folders for the Projects folder on the VM? Perhaps you have a permissions issue in accessing shared folders? 
 
I'm not very knowledgeable wrt VMWare but have seen people with problems when using shared folders through VMWare in the past.
