User Interface Language

In the English UI all dates are displayed in US format (MM/DD/YYYY). is there a way to display them as DD/MM/YYYY?

Is it also possible to have English (UK) as the UI language, after all SDL is a UK company and UK English is more widely spoken in the world than US English.

  • Hello Tyke,

The answer will be no on both counts I'm afraid.

This is a bug since Studio 2014.  It is due to be resolved in Studio 2017 and possibly in an update to Studio 2015.

I'm with you on this one... I much prefer the en(UK) spelling!  However, we may be an English company but we have adopted en(US) as the flavour we use in everything we do.  Although I sometimes think we have more of a hybrid... but hopefully a consistent one.

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

I'll just have to wait and see now, I've bought the update to 2017, so hopefully it will not be too long.

Wouldn't it be easy to have en(US) and en(UK) as two separate UI languages? As a German - English (UK) translator it sometimes amuses people that in one sentence I have both "colour" and "color". The latter coming as a quote from the software. It plays havoc with spell checking.

    Regards,

    Ben
