Concordance search

Question

Hi, 
 I have a question about the concordance search in SDL Studio 2015. I find that it doesn&acute;t always find results that I know are in the TM. For example, I had recently translated a word and when I wanted to look it up by doing a concordance search, studio couldn&acute;t find it. I have updated the memory and all the settings should be fine (fuzzy 70, minimum 30). What is the reason for this?

Just to wrap this up. The problem was that the words in the TM were actually these: 
 Paksoita Shanghaipaksoita Paksoipaistosta 
 This means you definitely need to make sure that the concordance value is less than 100%... probably quite a bit lower. If I use 70% I find this with concordance: 
 
 The others will have too low a fuzzy value to be found. So options to find these would be: 
 1. Use Ctrl+F and just search the source which will find the previous examples in the text you have open no matter how long the words are, and 
 2. Make more use of a Termbase and add these terms as you work

Hi Linn, 
 Most likely you are not looking in the right TM or you have not really updated it. Can you go back a few segments to the one you confirmed and see whether the whole segment is actually in your TM? Do you have these options all set?

Can you clarify this for me please, I'm a little confused. What was the full source you translated and what was the full translation? So what was the source and target you sent to the TM? 
 
What were you searching for with the concordance? It looks to me at the moment that you are searching for "paksoi" and expecting it to find "Pak Choy"? If this is true perhaps you should lower the percentage concordance value from the default 70%, although I have my doubts that even 30% would find "paksoi" from "Pak Choy".

ok - so "paksoi" is the source and "Pak Choy" is the target? Perhaps your problem is that you are searching in the target for the source term, which it won't be able to find of course. Make sure you have the correct search location located: 
 
 Also note that there are various shortcuts you can use: 
 F3 - search selected source phrase in the source, or selected target phrase in the target 
 Ctrl+Shift+F3 - target concordance search from anywhere 
 Ctrl+F3 - source concordance search from anywhere
