How to migrate the trados license server

Hello

We are virtualising the servers of my company, and one of this servers contains the Trados License Server. What is the best way to migrate it? I need to deactivate it in the phisical server and then reactivate?

Any help would be much apreciated

  • Hi Jefferson

You need to return the network license from within your SDL License Server Manager, either online or by "Offline Deactivation" through your SDL customer account in case your server is not connected to the Internet. Obviously, your Studio clients will not be able to obtain a license anymore after this.
Once you have done this, the network license will be available again (you can check this in your customer account).
You can then reinstall the SDL License Server Manager on the new server and activate it again with the license code of your network license.

You did not mention which License Server you use (Nalpeiron or SafeNet), but the procedure is similar in both cases (just the programs are called slightly differently - the procedure I described is the one for SafeNet (Studio 2015)).
