We have two Amharic translators that have been struggling with typing Amharic characters in Trados properly for more than a year. They were using the GEEZ keyboard. This one works in Word, but not in Trados. So they have been copying and pasting their translations from Word into Trados. I recently installed the Keyman keyboard for Amharic and had one of the translators on a call when I tried that out and we thought this software might work better with Trados, but from what the Amharic translator reported later after installing Keyman on his computer, it still does not work properly and the software was interfering more with his typing than it was helping. So I think he uninstalled that again.

Do you know any users working with Amharic in Trados successfully or are you one of them? Would anyone have any tips? We have one translator who apparently does not have a problem anymore and I will contact him. I have also submitted a support ticket. Maybe there is something in the support database.
