I was editing a file in Studio 2014 and got the following error message, which has hung up Studio entirely - I can't even close it and start up again! Can anyone help me out? Am racing a deadline for today :(

  • Hi Monique,

My first reaction to this would be to open the file in the Editor and then use View -> Reset Window Layout. If that doesn't help try a reset. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11.0.0.0

And if that doesn't help then create the Project again and pretranslate the file from your TM. I don't know why you keep having this problem but I guess it might have something to do with a virus checker, or some kind of clean up tool that is interacting with the files as you write to them. I'd look at seeing whether you can add Studio to the list of exceptions for any AntiVirus or clean up tools you might be running.

If none of this helps then I think we should log a case for you so the support team can take a look.

    Regards
